Stuff to think about...
Have you completed your domain name registration and web hosting setup? If not, call me and we can do it over the phone.
Know who you are, what you do and what you do best. You know your company better than I ever will.
Decide what the goals of your website are.
Determine who your audience is and who you want to include/exclude from your audience.
Figure out how you plan to show off (market) your website once it is LIVE and online for all the world to see! Don't depend on the search engines to do all the work. You will need to tell your friends, put it on your bus cards, billboard down I-20, FaceBook, Twitter, etc. Heck, tell your mom, you know she will brag on you!
Compile a list of minimum criteria for the site as well as a list of features that would be desirable.
Know what content you will want and need to have on the website. This will determine the entire outline of the site and must be established early in the development process.
Be prepared to give me an idea of the aesthetics of your site. This can include colors, imagery and even adjectives to give me an idea of the feeling you want to convey. Compile a list of websites that you like the look of. They do not have to be within your company's field of business. Explain what elements you like and don't like about each website and why it might work for you.
